2nd UNITA CALL for GRANTS ON INNOVATION IN TEACHING AND LEARNING & MICROCREDENTIALS PROJECTS

Welcome to the application form for the 2nd UNITA Call for Grants on Innovation in Teaching and Learning and Joint Microcredential Projects.

This call is part of the UNITA Teaching and Learning Network’s effort to support and fund innovative educational projects that foster collaboration among partner Universities, promote internationalization, and enhance teaching practices within the UNITA Alliance.

Applicants may participate in a maximum of one proposal under each strand of the call: one proposal under the Innovation in Teaching and Learning strand and one proposal under the Joint Microcredentials strand.

Projects submitted under the Innovation in Teaching and Learning strand must involve at least three UNITA partner universities. An exception applies to Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) projects, which may involve two partner universities. Projects submitted under the Joint Microcredentials strand must involve at least two UNITA partner universities. These consortium requirements reflect the eligibility rules included in the call.

Under the Innovation in Teaching and Learning strand, projects may receive up to:

  • EUR 15,000 for three partners or UNITA partner universities;
  • EUR 10,000 for eligible projects involving two UNITA partner universities.

These are maximum amounts and may be adjusted depending on the project and the available budget. For selected projects, the share of the approved budget allocated to each participating university will be administered by that university.

Under the Joint Microcredentials strand, funding is limited to a maximum of EUR 2,000 per project. This amount may be increased depending on the number of applications received and the available budget.

Selected Joint Microcredential projects will be invited to participate in a collaborative working event at UBI in Covilhã on 24–25 November 2026. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered through a separate dedicated budget. As the event constitutes a key component of the microcredential development process, in-person attendance for its entire duration is expected. Online participation may be accepted only in exceptional circumstances and upon prior approval.
